To begin with, I would like to say well done to everyone in my group which did really well even when the first run at the start of the morning didn't look all that promising.
The key to a successful performance is energy and at the start of the morning with a dress and tech run we weren't all that serious and many of us lacked energy and that was key to us being at fault at the beginning of it all. We knew that in order to create a good performance we would need to be attentive to what was being said by our peers and director and we would also have to find ways to be emotionally engaged as to what was happening on stage.
In terms of the performance there were much more strengths than weaknesses but we don't want more than the other we would want all to be strengths and no weaknesses.
The beginning of the performance started with the audience lining up outside in this kind of club atmosphere starter with me being the bouncer and ticking off names of the audience members. This already began the breaking of the fourth wall and in all honesty there probably wasn't a fourth wall at the start anyway as as they turned the corner they were entering this creepy night club.
It then came down to our energy as the middle of the piece came through with Josh, the clown bringing more people to the stage and we had to keep on reacting to each balloon being popped. As this kept on repeating personally I found it tiring and quite tedious but if I want to be a theatre/film actor I would have to get used to repeating things many times so the aftermath is a positive one.
The strengths of our performance had to be the ending part which on hindsight is quite bad in terms of wanting the whole performance to be a good one. There were times where we lacked energy and some scenes lacked energy and this is noticed by people not committing 100% and that will definitely catch the audience's eye.
Overall a good performance and I can't wait for the future ones!
